Roses stated that “for the first time Venezuela reaches universal coverage in matters of vaccines, specifically concerning monitoring, and this the most important thing for the Pan American Health Organization to recognize the effort carried out by the whole Venezuelan Government and the organized society.”
The maximum health authority of the continent expressed that the coverages reached by Venezuela show that there is a great sense of organization and coordination for the work, not only with the campaign against rubella but also what is being fulfilled with the Vaccination Week in the Americas.
Last Sunday 27^th , the PAHO director handed over to president Hugo Chávez Frías the Certificate that describes Venezuela as fulfilling the vaccination standards, specifically during the Rubella Elimination and Congenital Rubella Syndrome campaigns.
Concerning the Barrio Adentro Mission, Roses declared that this mission has been a great advance in matters of primary attention and she added that, after overcoming political and economic crisis, the health sector in Latin American countries got damaged.
“It meant the reappearance of innovative programs as Barrio Adentro in Venezuela, which has achieved to narrow the gap and reestablish the contact between the health service and the population,” said Roses. |
