Roy Chaderton appointed Venezuelan representative before the OAS

Caracas, May 7 ABN.- It was published in Gazette the resolution in which is appointed the Ambassador Roy Chaderton Matos as Venezuela's permanent representative before the Organization of American States (OAS), which main office is placed in Washington, United States.

The publication of this resolution from the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Relations appeared in the Gazette number 38.924, dated on Tuesday May 6^th , 2008.

Chaderton Matos is a Venezuelan politician, lawyer and diplomat. He is one of the Venezuelan diplomats with a broad experience. He majored in Law at the Universidad Central de Venezuela.

During the Administration of President Hugo Chávez Frías, he performed as Minister of Foreign Relations, from May 2002 up to February 2004.

Despite Roy Chaderton had the post of foreign affairs, he also collaborated with the Government in many interior affairs.

In 2005, he was appointed Venezuelan Ambassador to France. During this position, he denounced the international media groups, questioned the monopoly of information and suggested a reform for the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO) and for the United Nations Organization (UNO), occasion in which he also criticized the exclusive use of the English langiage in several international forums.

In 2006, without letting to be Ambassador to France, Chaderton Matos was elected as diplomat assessor of the Ambassador to the UNO, Francisco Arias Cardenas.

On August 7^th 2007, he was appointed Ambassador to Mexico and on April 15^th 2008, the Venezuelan Parliament appointed him as Ambassador to the OAS.
