Venezuelan does not depend on United States' economy

Caracas, Oct 3. ABN.- According to the economist and professor of the Universidad Central de Venezuela, José Sojo, “thanks to the revolutionary policies carried out by the National Government, Venezuela does not depend on United States' economy, which is really hurt at this moment.”

In this sense, he also highlighted that Venezuelan economy is not subordinated to the impositions of the international financial organs.

Furthermore, Sojo stressed that “currently, we cannot see too many options to face this problem; however, initiatives like the Bank of the South are the right path towards the independence of Latin American countries.”

Sojo ratified that Latin American integration and unity is an essential tool to avoid, as much as possible, the crisis effects in the region.

Recently, the National Assembly created a commission to analyze United States' financial situation and its consequences.

Moreover, the President of the Republic, Hugo Chávez Frías, said that current world's financial crisis is due to capitalism, “which stages work like a cancer that undermine the society and make impossible that life has a path and opportunities.”

Chávez also made clear that Venezuela armored against foreign economic irregularities.

“Our economy is independent from the so-called neoliberal financial architecture and from the capitalistic financial institutions,” he explained.
